planning a new site and may switch hosting companies

Monday, October 29th, 2007

We’ve been spending a lot of time planning how to re-launch the new viralfilmvideo.com site in the coming months. Up until now we’ve been pretty much a basic site built to promote the company and to showcase our portfolio. In the near future we’ll still have part of the site about us, but the main goal will be to be better able to view our original content and some of our favorite videos from other sites. We’re still learning a lot about some of what we’re hoping to do so we’re taking our time. Our focus has always been producing viral videos first, and it still is, but we’re also hoping to offer services through our partners to help promote videos. If anybody has any websites that they think have a great design, I’m definitely looking for samples. I do think we’ll end up going with a Drupal design and following in the footsteps of our half stepsister site www.purestock.tv which is relaunching it’s new site soon. Drupal will be something that we can hopefully update a little easier than some of the other choices. The only downside is that at some point we may have to move from BlueHost to another server, because of some of the video posting services that aren’t available on BlueHost. One possibility is AptHost.com but we’re still exploring options. More to come.

NEW SHOW coming soon

Monday, September 10th, 2007

We’re pleased to announce a new show is nearing production. The show is about two computer geeks in their late twenties who spend way too much time with each other.
Be sure to check back for more information as we hope to film before it gets too cold. Coming to a computer screen near you.

Heinz commercial contest

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Came up with an idea for a Heinz Ketchup Hot Dogcommercial contest this morning. The trouble is that the deadline’s tonight at 11pm central. Oh well. I think I can possibly shoot it by tonight but even if I don’t get it done by the deadline I might still make it anyway. Originally when I was told about the contest I thought it was cool, but I had come to the conclusion that it wasn’t worth the time unless the idea was awesome and had some other payout besides the $57,000 which is cool but the odds that my spot would be what they picked would be another story. So anyway things changed this morning when the idea popped into my head and I want to do it for myself but also do it as a comedy video that we can put on the Lakeshore site if it has the viral legs that I think it does. I’ll let the concept speak for itself and if I don’t get it produced today I’ll pass along the spoilers but lets keep our fingers crossed. We’ll need some extra luck because Kate Henley who was going to be the actress was in a car accident and couldn’t make it to the office to shoot this morning. Maybe she’ll come by in the afternoon or my back up actress could work. It’s a very specific kind of character. Anyway, more soon, including updates on Neil Hamburger, Louis CK, Carol Leifer and the SHOW. Stay tuned.

Lakeshore Theater Presents

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

Another new client for ViralFilmVideo.com is Chicago’s Lakeshore Theater. We began what is sure to be an exciting process last week when we filmed stand up comedian Scott Capurro and the Col. Ritter’s S.H.O.W. There’s way too much going on with the Lakeshore that I can’t wait to tell everyone about but it will have to wait. If you haven’t been to the lakeshore you should definitely check it out. It has some of the best comedy talent from all over the country and chicagos best comedians. Look for original clips appearing soon across the web and on the lakeshores site. MORE TO COME

Our first Blog post

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

It’s an exciting day here at ViralFilmVideo.com as we work feverishly on our new campaign for LonelyBloggers.com. For those of you who are not familiar with us we’re a new company that was given birth by two beautiful parent companies, Mindlight Films and Mimi Productions. ViralFilmVideo.com is exclusively designed for our internet based clients who want to build their identity through the internet. We had some experience with a few viral ads before starting the new company and quickly grew to love the experience and freedom with the medium. Trying to stand out on the internet is going to be a challenge and we can’t wait to make our mark.
